Has anyone else been watching this fantastic programme ? - we're riveted in our house -!

I have - it's fantastic (although I keep forgetting what night it's on and end up watching the late one). I loved the mother-daughter relationship thing in the last episode - the normal if a bit antagonistic relationship between - um - the main characters against the sickly sweet one between her sister and her daughter. Looking forward to dd's teenage years!

badmamma · 14/07/2002 18:11

and don t you wan t to shag the brother with the slight beard? he s divine. and his new girlfriend is fantastically complicated character. why the hell is it on so late tho? keep dozing off before end of every episode.

Rhiannon · 14/07/2002 19:44

Just started watching last week, I'm now gripped! Not sure what's going on with the brother, incest? R

Willow2 · 14/07/2002 21:10

badmamma - ooh you naughty girl... but you said it.

SofiaAmes · 14/07/2002 21:32

awesome...i've been waiting for it as my friends in the us have been raving about it for a year now! badmamma, i think it's on again on e4 on wed (?) at 9 (?). And Lucy123, i'm with you, that mother/daughter thing was hilarious. Rhiannon, which brother are you talking about? gay bro or randy bro?

tigermoth · 15/07/2002 08:01

Ha - at last I can join in on a TV thread! I rarely get round to watching anything properly, but seen all the episodes so far. Fab. Love the music.

What about the parents of the handsome brother's girlfriend? what is going on there? I think we'll see a lot more of that sinister couple. And do you think the girfriend started the fire. Looks like it to me.

SofiaAmes, the brother of the rich girl (Rachel Griffiths) can't remember her character's name. R

binker · 15/07/2002 12:24

She's called Brenda. I love the funeral/church groupie who keeps bumping into David. The mother /daughter thing last week was v funny (what is spinning - an exercise ?) . We video Monday nights ch 4 episode to watch on Sunday or Saturday when there's crap tv on.

OP posts:
tigermoth · 15/07/2002 12:59

The actress who plays Brenda also played Murial's best friend in the film 'Murial's Wedding' didn't she?

Toots · 15/07/2002 13:31

Binker, how can you wait that long? We tape it and watch it on Tuesdays, but I never can save things up. My mum says DP looks like Nate. If only I could see it myself.

SofiaAmes · 15/07/2002 21:04

oh yes definitely incest! Muriel's wedding...what a great movie...i thought she looked familiar. Spinning was last year's (don't forget these are a year old in the usa) happening exercise...I think it has something to do with exercise bicycles and disco music (?)

Spinning really hurts your bum!!!!!

Mooma · 16/07/2002 00:08

If you have Sky, Six Feet Under repeats on E4 on Weds at 9pm...much more civilised! We are utterly hooked too, along with 24. Can't believe there are only 4 more to go (5 if you're watching on BBC2)
SAD, SAD, SAD!

binker · 16/07/2002 10:08

Mooma - we don't have E4, but in any case that'd clash with ER, my all time favourite programme.

Dreamer · 16/07/2002 10:56

C4 usually put good new trendy dramas on at 11pm. The next series will probably be on earlier (I hope).

We tape it aswell, but I've got 2 to watch now. Will have to drug ds tonight & have a mammoth session.

Lizzer · 16/07/2002 19:58

I have just become an addict after last night's show. Oh my, I was in floods of tears by the end and couldn't believe dp had fallen asleep for the last half hour (bless!) It's absolutely brilliant. Love and loss, love and loss...

janh · 16/07/2002 22:00

Has anybody else thought that the proximity of this thread to "Realising your parents aren't immortal" is a bit unfortunate...?

WideWebWitch · 17/07/2002 10:09

Mooma. we are equally sad about 24: isn't it gripping?! We've even discussed missing a week on BBC2 so that we can watch the penultimate episode and the last one in one go. So we're at least as sad as you!

Mooma · 17/07/2002 18:01

WWW - about 5 episodes ago, we were so gripped by the one we had just watched on BBC2, that we switched over to watch the next one on BBC Choice. What's even worse, every week we watch the episode on BBC2 again, as a lead in to the new one! Sad doesn't really come into it...we're tragic!
Sorry to have hijacked the Six Feet Under thread, talking of which, it's on tonight!
