tap shoes

they are shoes with a small heel, and metal taps fixed to toe and sometimes heel.

ooh, that was a quick reply! I was looking at some on ebay - capezio, the ladies in class said very good as make a louder tap. They are split sole. Expensive tho, and look blokish! But there are some cheaper ones on, like a proper ladies tap shoe. Don't know what to do!

If you are a beginner I wouldn't spend a lot on shoes for now.

Dance Depot have canvas ones from £12.25.

Dance Direct have a good selection too .

most tap shoes come with a front tap only you have to pay for the heel taps and it is the taps that make the louder sound you need Tele taps and not screwed right tight to the shoe either most cobblers fit them for you.
do not go for too high heel to start a basic shoe is best for beginner
