Bizarre thread about bath sponges shaped like fruit (eh? I hear you say....)

Yes, it's that blooming school theatre production again!!
I'm now on the look out for artificial fruit made from foam or sponge to be used in an on-stage food fight (they have decided plastic fruit will be too dangerous).
Does anyone know of anywhere I can get any fruit shaped sponges, or does anyone have any they would like to sell, or does anyone know of a craft supplies shop where I could get large pieces of coloured sponge and make our own?
Any tips greatly appreciated, we have scoured the internet and local craft shops all to no avail!

ha bizarre request! i suppose if you can't find any you can try a local market that stocks foam in large pieces that you put in sofas. iykwim!

Thanks, market is a good idea. The only place we have found any so far is from China (!!) and would be far too expensive to ship over here. I think DIY is the way to go
