Anyone had any experience of Sitters.co.uk? We have not really got any family members willing to babysit and now and again it would be nice to go out.

I needed a babysitter a couple of weeks ago (staying in a hotel for a family wedding). I called sitters after looking at their site and finding that they don't CRB check all their employees. They told me that 80% of their sitters are CRB checked because they already work in childcare, but not the other 20% because it is not a legal requirement in England (although it is in Scotland). I wasn't too impressed to be honest (what if I got one of the 20% etc etc). So found an agency called Safe Hands (can't link, but they have a good website). ALL their sitters are CRB checked. They found someone for me within 6 hours of my call and we had a really good experience. I recommend them.

You can specify when booking with Sitters that you want a CRB checked sitter....

we used them once and had a Not Very Good experience so have never bothered to use them again
