How sad is this?

I was out running with the dog this morning and needed to cross the road. There was no pedestrian crossing but there was a pedestrian island in the middle of the road. The road was single lane with houses, a pub, a couple of shops. (Thus is purely for a visual picture and not really relevant to the tale )

I crossed half way and waited on the island for a break in the traffic to cross the other half. There was a small roundabout just ahead of the traffic so it was all slowing, I’d estimate the cars were going at approx 20 mph.
Guess how many cars drove straight past me before one slowed down the bit extra to let me cross?

Yes, loads. I have similar on my walk to work in the mornings. Some days it drives me crazy in a 'what-is-wrong-with-people?' sort of way. Especially if it's raining.
