Hi, please I need advise about what to do with my Mother, if someone can please give me some advise on what to do.
My mum has got really unwell these past few months. She has got very paranoid, she thinks me and a few of my sisters are trying to poison or kill her and my 2 younger sisters. My youngest sister has down syndrome, she is 7, she is also suffering from this because my mum is refusing to take her to school because of the accusations she made about a teacher at her school, that teacher was also my teacher 17 years ago, I know that what my mum is saying is false.
My sister since she hasn't gone to school has gained alot of weight now and is unable to walk properly due to her gaining weight, she cannot carry her body now.
My mum is hiding sharp knives around the house, some mornings she is awake really early, running up and down the house looking out the windows. She also believes that someone is messaging her telling her which people are bringing poison into the house, I have looked at my mums whatsapp, she is talking to herself, she thinks the person is sending her loves poems and messages and photos, but she is doing it to herself, I have seen the messages, they date back till a year ago.
My mum keeps making jokes about death, her laugh has now changed it's very creepy now, she looks at EVERYONE as if we are all suspects. My Mother was never like this, she has changed soo much.
I have contacted the enfield crisis team, because our go was not helping because my MUM DOES NOT ACCEPT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG, SHE IS REFUSING TO BE ASSESSED. The crisis team has now referred my mum to our go as she also refused these guys for an assessment.
Me and my sisters believe my mum has schizophrenia, but we are not sure, we want doctors to look at her and tell us what it is.
My mum has lately been threatening to kill me and one of my sisters, I told the doctor on the phone that what would happen once she does kill one of us? I told them that me telling them what my mums actions are and telling them this is dangerous for my youngest disabled down syndrome 7 year old sister, they did not help.
Unless my mum accepts the help, they cannot help in this situation.
Does anyone please know what I can do know. We are a poor family we cannot afford private treatments but please if anyone knows what else I can do please help.
