I have a terrible phobia of snakes, not an uncommon one but it does affect ligfe- i once nearly put us all in a ditch braking hard for a huge one on the Somerset levels, and evena childs picture can freak me- the boys' teachers know they cant bring home books with pictures in (dh does take them to the snake house at the zoo etc, they're jot scared at all themselves- and I am aware enough to laugh at my silliness).

Its a stupid phobia but its there and not an awful lot I can do, I adapt so it doesn't affect- like singing ludly and stamping when I am walking in the country to create movements to move any away before I get there.

I have nothing but pity for anyopne who is for example scared of sitting down.

I know, how would you live with a fear of standing or walking. It was a look I meant, not a freaky look. I was shocked by some of them and imagining the effect they must have on peoples lives.
