rethread old shoelaces, the type with no plastic on the end.
This drives me mad. Thanks in advance.

Clear nail polish on end of lace?
Sellotape to make temporary plastic bit?

Sellotape around the end - very little, then if still a bit tricky use a big needle to help push through.
PS lots of patience required and no dc in the near vicinity.........

tuftyclub · 07/05/2007 22:04

thanks for that.

If they are synthetic laces, you can heat the ends up in a flame for a few seconds and when cooled they go hard.

My top shoelace tip - if they get really knotted so you cant get them undone, sprinkle them with talc. Thankyou for the opportunity of letting me tell you that!
