all my kids friends say so and dd's mates love coming over and making me join in with their makeovers n all that.. they plot n scheme to fix me up with their dads and say that they wish their mums were like me, lol they even nag me to go out with them!! They're all 14-16 yrs old and I'm 36

I think I'm too old to be cool - same age as you Sugarcoatedpoison but LOs still toddlers so by the time they are old enough to care whether I am cool or not, think I will be beyond redemption. Was never particularly cool in my youth either so I'm not holding out much hope.

Put in the responses that would make me "uncool" and it helpfully said: I am uncool...

And that's pretty okay. While your kids may not think of you as a friend, they will respect you.
You know that kids need discipline and structure, and you're not afraid to give it to them.
Just be careful that your strictness doesn't lead to rebellion.
It's good to have standards and rules, but you don't need to have an iron fist when enforcing them.
