anyone bothered by this advert???

Hi. Has anyone else seen the new Nik Naks advert on TV? I have seen it a few times today and am not really impressed with it. It shows a man eat a Nik Nak crisp, then it burst out of his stomach like the scene from Alien. He then lies looking dead on the table, then everyone dances around eating crisps.

This seems a bit of a strange and sick advert really............does anyone else think so?? I can't decide if I am over-reacting!!! Usually things on TV don't bother me at all.

Haven't seen the advert myself but it sounds pretty gross and a bit scary for young kids. If you want to do something about it, email the advertising standards agency (I got their website by doing a search). I complained about the horrible pot noodle 'slag' posters/adverts and the ASA wrote to me to tell me that it was being taken out of circulation. Hurrah!

i thouht it was oo gut can see your point. it maybe should be a watershed advert - because the film itself was an 18 i think

I saw that last night and assumed it was only for post watershed. Agree it is rather sick and not suitable for younsters.

I saw it and said to dh that I bet they get loads of complaints about it. Prob be withdrawn, I bet. I found it off-putting as am pregnant. Would not want a child to see it.

Yup I thought it was bad too. Also didn't like the Tango ad a while back where someone was tied to a chair at work & then propelled across the floor by a fire extinguisher ! Very irresponsible - how many tried that I wonder ??

highlander - the reason i complained about the pot noodle ads was that there was a huge poster on the bus stop outside the school I work at saying 'slap me you slag' or something along those lines - which was nice! I'm not usually a mary whitehouse type

They've also taken off the Renault "Shakin' that ass" adverts as people complained they poked fun at people with Parkinsons disease. FFS, that is going a bit far. Ds twins love that ad and wiggle their bums to it when it comes on.

I haven't seen it yet. I didn't really like the Irn Bru advert with the woman trying to push her baby out. The baby's hand pops out of her nether regions, grabs and drinks the can, burps and the can shoots out of her into a bucket. Gross.

Yuk! I saw it for the first time tonight. I definitely agree that it should be restricted to post-watershed viewing.

I think it's funny - in the manner of Tango ads...
