squeaking house is sending me completely demented...

It has just dawned on me (19 months after my PFB arrived) that it wasn't the being up in the middle of the night, or being scared that I'd wake him up that sent me mad.. it was our squeaking floorboards.
I sort of ignored them when we first moved in because it seemed far too big to deal with - whaddya do, replace them all?!?!
but I've just got DS to sleep again (itching with CPox and not breathing with a cold..) and just realised.
Any fabulous ideas that don't involve ripping up carpet and laminate and starting over?
Doubt anyone's around now anyway, but feel better for sharing

Ooh, maybe we'll find the answer then, if people are reading !!

Sometimes it's just a case of screwing them down properly. That usually makes a difference. Try that for starters.

Thanks Jalopy - I'll go and tell DH I'm taking up the carpets tomorrow - if only to see the look on his face........

find the moving one and nail it down more - sometimes just banging in the existing nails helps

Jackaroo · 07/05/2007 22:07

Can I bang it in through the carpet then? Ah.. thanks Maisy :-)
