looks like a spider bite, I've never heard of chicken pox of the elbow unless the rest of the body was covered and they were in full bloom

does he have them on chest and neck? that's usually the first places they appear

sorry - I just get concerned sometimes when people hang around here looking for advice when going to the doctor might be urgent. Anyway looks like your plea is getting responses now. Hope all DCs are okay and if it is chicken pox that it clears up soon.

I know - sorry didn't mean to be snappy at you - I'd already done the glass test on the spots (much to DS's disgust as "IT WAS COLD" he protested wildly lol) so wasn't too concerned about that.
