Becoming a Brownie Leader, honest thoughts?

Hi there
I wondered if anybody out there is a Brownie leader and if so I would really appreciate an honest opinion on this and exactly what’s involved! The ladies who run my DDs Brownie group are stepping down after 30 years and they are desperate to find replacements or the unit will close. It’s something I am interested in but before I commit I want to get a realistic idea of how much of my time this will take up, outside of the weekly meetings, as I also run my own business and am concerned about taking on too much! Any advice would be most appreciated. Thank you x

There's a Guiding thread in the extra curricular activities forum afaik. That might be the best place to ask!

I would say the extra time comes from admin - emailing parents, managing accounts, dealing with new starters, risk assessments for activities/trips, planning each term.

Then there is the general picking up resources for crafts/cooking. If there are three or four of you working together it shouldn't be too onerous - we do termly planning meetings as a group and then each take responsibility for certain weeks. Obviously the smaller the group the less work it is, I think.

I enjoy being a leader and planning fun activities, but hate doing the accounts stuff, so someone else does that!
