Evening.
Today I tried to give blood. I really did.
Last time I went they were running late, so I filled in form, and sat there, and sat there some more, and then had a little interview, and then sat there some more, and waited, and then went to a nice bed where a nurse prodded my arm and said she couldn't see a vein so I should go away. They booked me in for the next session... which I duly put on the calendar.
Got ready to go, checked phone - text from them - we're running 45 minuets late, but please turn up at the appointed time. Well first of all, WTF? We're running late but sod your time, we want you to turn up anyway and hang about for aeons. Second, that necessitated emergency childcare re-arrangement and change of food plans, because you know - I'm apparently going to be out for another 45 minutes later than planned and DH is going out. So by the time I got out the door, it was actually my appointment time anyway. I arrived fifteen minutes after the time on my calendar and stood around waiting around for someone to book me in. At which point them announced that I was more than 15 minutes late and they wouldn't let me donate now. W.T.A.F. I pointed out that THEY were the ones who said they were running 45 minutes late, at which point they said they'd caught up since then and were only 20 minutes late now. Not that they bothered updating the text they'd sent, oh no...
AIBU to think that the blood doner muppets I encountered are utter fuckwits? It's enough to put me off ever bothering with them again. If they have scheduled in time for everyone to donate, but are then running late then clearly they can accommodate people who are also late. Bloody idiots.
Anyway... in less stressful news, I let DS watch Cunk on Britain... It might have been very a bit inappropriate in places
, but he did say it was hilarious. And also asked what condoms are
.
Well done on the knitting Apricot I never have got the hang of knitting. I drop stitches and then gain them in random places. Today I suspect I unpicked as much as I sewed due to mis-counting the threads
I think we need HBFs all round for general wench maintenance and pain relief.
