DH invited his father and partner for a bbq this afternoon/evening, our first for over a year because of moving house etc. DH decided to go into work today and is still not home, guests are arriving any time now, so I thought I'd best get the bbq out. It's gross!

The rack is covered in old brunt on yuk and there is also mould on it. Is there anythign I can do to clean it properly asap (we need to eat by 6ish because of DS) or should I just put the food in the oven?

Help please!!

go to the garage and buy a couple of disposable ones, or better still ring and ask someone to collect them on their way to you, DH or PILs.

We have a big seed tray I use for cleaning BBQ rack - if you have anything suitable just soak it in hot soapy water in case you can't get disposable BBQs in time!

Normally I just scrape off what I can and then burn the rest of by covering the BBQ and letting the heat build up. Any bacteria is long gone by the time you throw food on it.

they're only small mckenzie - about the sze of A4 paper but usually come in packs of 3

Sorry to be going on, i'm pregnant and very hormonal today.
