Camping Virgins!! Help me compile a list please!!

We are travelling down to Italy during the summer to a friends wedding. Have decided to camp before where we arrive in Italy.

Problem 1 - Taking 3 kids (12, 5 & 4)!!!

Problem 2 - Never camped before!! Tents recommendations most appreciated please!!!

Problem 3 - What the hell do I need to buy. I want to be comfortable!!!

Please help me.

We had our first camping hol. last summer just for 2 nights.

Essentials:
Loo roll
Chopping Board
Washing up bowl
w.up liquid
disinfectant wipes
good knives
old cutlery/plastic plates/cups you don't mind losing
eyepads so you don't wake up at 4am
boxes with proper lids so you don't get beasties in your food.

TBH, we had to pack the car to the gunnels just for 2 nights. Can't remember what the tent is called, but it's a big one with 2 sep. sleeping rooms.
