Amazing advice from a mother to her daughter; really!!!

My sister's boyfriend's mum was chatting to my sister last week. Her daughter and husband have had some relationship problems and fallen out a bit recently. Husband has even moved out for a night or two at times.

They have two young boys aged 3 and 1. Youngest has had health problems at start but much better now. Eldest is a typical, boisterous child of 3.

Come from traditional NE type of working family - mum does everything in house, sorts food, looks after children. Father works and goes to pub after work, most of Sunday. Seems they have been following this koind of life themselves. But daughter is getting fed up and want husband todo more at home and with kids.

Mum's classic advice and help to daughter: You should just be grateful he comes home to you at night and isn't sleeping with other women!

Even my chatterbox younger sister was rendered speechless.

Needless to say my sister and her boyfrind do not live like that!

My mum once advised me (several years ago) when i thought bf was cheating, that it was ok as it was obviously me he came back to. Fortunatly with no diseases. And I get no sympathy from dp's mum and family as i should be glad he works so hard (he does indeed), but at least he doesnt beat me and i shouldnt really expect him to do much round the house when he works so many hours, and in fact what do i do all day as it obviously isnt housework!! No, I enjoy spending time with my kids instead.
