"waking the Dead" on tv

Did anyone watch "waking the Dead" last night and Sunday? The actor who played the male twin (I think the character was called Jason) was called Joe Armstrong. I think he looked exactly like a young Pete Postlethwaite (Brassed off and others) but can't find anything online. Does anyone else think the same or know anything I don't?

oh i love waking the dead (I was talking about the characters' hinterland with motherinferior yesterday) - never seen the actor before, but could have at least made the effort to cast someone as his twin sister who at least looked like they came from the same family..

daisy1999 · 27/07/2004 16:44

Dh is convinced I am mad but I'm sure it must be his son.

Feel silly asking but what's "hinterland" bundle.

I thought he looked like the actor Alun Armstrong - and when I saw his name assumed he was his son.

oh you know, all the personal stuff we never get to hear about - this week's was Amelia's, in the past we've found out a bit more about Boyd's demons.

daisy1999 · 27/07/2004 17:03

congrats catgirl I've just checked Alun Armstrong and it is his son. I'll tell dh that's who I meant .

isn't it a fab programme?! I managed to tape over the 2nd part of the bomb one (last week's) DER but I thought the 1st one and last night's were really excellent. The last 5 mins of last night's gave me the willies!!

bundle · 27/07/2004 18:49

the bomb one wasn't that great, just ok. last night's was much better.

motherinferior · 27/07/2004 18:55

I MISSED the bomb and the previous one. So ker-nackered I didn't even look at the TV listings. Has anyone got them on vid...?

And yes, the last 5 minutes kept me awake. But how do you think those children blotted out the first five years of their lives? Were there any suggestions about that?

Janh · 27/07/2004 19:23

Alun Armstrong looks a lot like Pete Postlethwaite, I think. (Bad skin, long face.)

Haven't seen it so don't know who you are talking about but thought I'd lob that in!

But SofiaAmes mentioned the programme this week with ref to the MSbP mothers.

Sobernow, you don't have the first two stories of the season, do you...?

WTD also reminds me of a teenage crush on Trevor Eve as Shoestring, thus giving me two thrills for the price of one. Which is pretty rewarding, especially considering that I don't get out much.

Jodee · 27/07/2004 21:00

Oooh yes, great programme! Anyone know how many more are left (wish I had taped them).

Hmmm, tonight's fare - just starting on ITV and C4 it's a toss-up between Hovels from Hell (or something!) and Wife Swap (soooo bored with this now!)
