Learning to drive

Anyone else learning to drive? I couldn’t find a support thread. Any tips? Or anything to avoid?

I’ve had my first lesson today.

I'm not - I learnt back when dinosaurs roamed the earth, but I've had 2 of my dc pass in recent years.
My tip is to save up, and then try to have either two hour lessons, or at least 2 x 1 hour lessons a week (or both), so you don't spend the first 20mins or so of each lesson getting back to where you'd got to by the end of the previous lesson.
Also, take notice of all the road signs / hazards / road markings / etc whenever you are out and about - walking or on the bus or as a passenger in a car. Really concentrate on them, and carry your highway code about with you and look up any you don't know. Really familiarise yourself with everything in context so your theroy test becomes a doddle.
