If I am sending a parcel/packet- what's the difference in sending it Standard Parcel Post, £4.95 or First Class Packet, £4.25. (LOL, apart from 70p)

I would have thought First class would be quicker and therefore more expensive. I have looked at the RM site and it doesn't make it clear of any dimensions to say what is classed as a "packet" or a "parcel!"

Can anyone shed some light on this for me please?

All letters and parcels up to the limit of 'packet post' are classed as such but can't remember what size that is (it's now size not just weight) and anything larger has to go as a parcel. I had same query and asked postmaster and he told me.

Forgot to say yes I think 1st class packet post is quicker due to weight, even though cost is less.
