software installation question

I am not to good with computers and I am trying to download some software i have brought for my mobile phone a gx20 (data cable).I am putting into the machine (see I can't remember what it is called) and nothing is happening.In my phones manual it says insert cd rom into the driver and the screen will be displayed.If it is not displayed double click [launcher.exe]in your cd rom.I don't know how to do this I am wondering if I have brought a dud now please help

I take it you've put the CD ROM in and nothing's happened?

If you're using Windows, double click on "My computer", (or find "my computer" in the menu if it's XP) - double click on the CD drive (it'll display with the software company name probably) and then double click on launcher.exe

Thanks SenoraPostrophe but I think i must be to dim to do this I dont know how to click on cd drive i don't know what it looks like and i don't know how to find launcher.exe.This is the first time I have never been able to load one by just putting the cd rom in and waiting eer

can you find "My Computer" ?

yes found that and i think i have sorted it maybe.can't seem to down load the photos now i am going to wait until dh gets home now thankyou so much for your help i wouldn't of got that far without it
