Could I have some MAKE-UP advice, please?

i never wear the stuff, but have begun to feel that perhaps i would feel better about myself if i plucked my tash and slapped on some lippie.

so, duly plucked, i applied some make-up i have had lying around.

oh it's awful.

what is wrong?

you see people with foundation on and it looks like it's their skin, but look at me and you can see, well, it looks flaky and bitty and smudged and, ok imagine if you had dry dead skin and applied it on top of that, that's what i mean. - i don't have dry dead skin. i moisturised first!

i clearly need help.

i have in my possession

a liquid foundation
a concealer
a bit of face powder
a blusher - not the powder one, the one that's sticky, like lipstick
a lipstick
a lip pencil
a mascara
an eyeshadow
a sponge for the foundation
a puff for the powder
everything else goes on with my finger!

and no money to spend on make up, which, having looked, is £10 per bloody item!!

what can i do with what i've got?

apart from throw it all in the bin and shove a bag on my head.

No, but I'm struggling to google Collection 2000. I would suggest that strong colours might not suit you, particularly the pinks. But the browns and apricots will. Don't know what some of the other colours are, but it's always good to experiment and see what suits you. You might not use everything you get, but at £11, in comparison to what you could have spent even at No7, it's a bargain!

Sorry, I've stepped into a domestic.

do you know anyone who does avon??? the make up is cheap enough and some of its really quite good (check out their website too) its a godsend if you don't have a lot of money to spend and if you dont like it you can return it and get your money back

and no i'm not a rep

flutterbee · 24/04/2007 21:22

I have to say and I don't want to upset you but from what I can remember the collection 2000 stuff is really cheap and pretty rubbish.

It may have changed though as I haven't seen any on sale for years now, having said that it will definately be worth the money because it will allow you to work out what colours work for you without having to spend a huge amount of money.

really? buggeration. oh well, it's my neices birthday soon, if its shite she can have it for playing princesses or whatever dress-up games 8 year old girls play these days!
