As my DS is 3 in Aug - Nurseries are at forefront of my mind at the mo. tbh though I would find it diff to justify to DH paying more for any of the green/ organic attributes but a good varied vegetarian menu but be a usp for us (as vegies) - and I would be encouraged that the other children attending would be from likeminded families. But I could only see this kind of attention to detail in a nursery being profitable in the more affluent areas of London (or other cities) - where you have the population and demand to suport it. Not that I really know anything about the subject - so maybe I am talking 'out my arse' It does sound lovely - I would like to be a child enrolled here!

Katymac · 22/04/2007 07:17

Thanks Saggers, Promater & Usandnosleep - thank you loads

There would always be a veggie option & there is often only a veggie option atm (as long as eggs are OK) plus I serve lots of fish (not relevant to you as a veggie I know - but thought I'd mention it)

The architect & I are arguing over some stuff - I say it's irrelevant & he says it's vital over some things & vice-versa on others

"Mum's" opinions will help me win the arguments (I hope)

But I will have to analyse it all first & I think I need quite a few more for it to be relevant

So any more volunteers?

I think I would expect most things on your list to come as standard. The eco thing would be a bit irrelevant to me as I would not pay more for it. I expect that most parents find nurseries expensive enough without paying extra for 'nice to have' stuff.

Katymac · 22/04/2007 07:28

Thanks Quasi - I think you could be right

However I MUST win the argument with the architect

As a general comment, I'd prefer homecooked food and in an ideal world that would be organic. However I wouldn't be willing to pay extra for solar power etc laudable though that would be. HTH

God, sounds like the nursery of all nurseries. Think you should do the same sort of thing for the people that work there. FWIW, dds nursery staff were never allowed to wear jeans. I know they're the most sensible thing to wear, but it did mean most of them were turned out nicely, and I think that's important.
