We recently had a wooden roof with felt roof covering attached to the back of our house. It isnt walled but has large thick wooden posts to support it and the end which have been set I think in concrete and go down into the ground.
I have noticed that the wooden posts are splitting on all sides so that soon the split will go all the way from one side to another. THe splits are about 5mm in width and fairly deep! Is this to be expected or a sign of a serious weakness?
REally panicking now as it stretches across the whole of the back of our house and kids are always under it. Oh and it is about 4 foot roof heading away from the house.
