Hi - just moved into Edinburgh and I am looking for tips on how to get a social network going with my nursery age son. We have just started school and of course that will help us a lot but are there any early years groups around that you could recommend? Also does any one know a good shihatsu masseuse (or however you spell it) up here?
Thanks - Hermia

Hi Hermia, I have also just moved to Edinburgh. What area do you live in? I'm in Newington. I haven't been able to find much info on groups either despite scouring the internet. My 2 yr daughter is starting nursery next week for two days, so that will be a bit of independence for both of us.

The Eric Liddle centre at Holy Corner, Morningside has a great mini gym (mothers attend with child if under 3 then they go in alone 3-5 and you can eat homebaking ) and a new music class.

Its a mini gym class I should say, called Gymini phone 0131 334 3567 to book direct with one of the ladies who run it.

Hi LJO and Frumpygrumpy - I posted a message here yesturday and it isn't showing. Sorry about that because although it was very late notice there was a meet up at the zoo which I thought LJO might have been interested in today. It was really good and I shall go to the next for sure. Watch the meetup board for info if you fancy.
Thanks Frumpygrumpy! Good info and I'll check it out.
LJO - We have tried the soft play places and I think Molly's in Leith may have classes or groups. Great place if you havn't been down there yet. Also Clambers at the swimming pool and The Jelly Club had good toddler areas. We are in Willowbrae and my ds is 4.5. Where have you moved from?

Thanks ladies I will try them all out. I saw the meet up in Edinburgh, but the weekends are the only time I get to see the rest of my friends and family. It's during the week when everybody is at work that I run out of ideas to amuse my small one. Re: Gymini can I do it while pregnant? will I have to wear a leotard? o.k. just answer the first question.
