Hello I keep getting 0161 calls everyday I block the calls and then I get a different 0161 calling. They never leave a message . I tried to call one back to see who it was and then it was quiet, another number it was not possible to connect the call really odd and annoying . Anyone had this . One of the numbers was 01613543759. I rang it from my landline it was quiet and then 2
Minutes later they rang my house phone and I didn’t answer Thank you

Just block them all. We get them all the time..they have various numbers. If you type the number into google they will show as nuisance calls.

I get these, and if I manage to answer sometimes it just hangs and says there is no one to take my call. 😡it wasn’t my bloody call, you called me dimwit!
I tend to bung them in whocalledme online to see what it is. My blocked spam list grows daily.

Yep, I've been getting loads recently. I just press ignore. Sometimes block the number. I suspect it is a PPI cold caller preying on people in the run up to Christmas.

LoniceraJaponica · 25/11/2017 14:33

Just type into google "who called me", then put the number in. It might say who it is or there will be comments from people saying it is a scam.

TheSpottedZebra · 25/11/2017 14:35

Me too. Usually 0161 814 xxxx. I ignore them, and add them to spam.

TheSpottedZebra · 25/11/2017 14:35

NB the first few months worth showed up on whocalledme but the recent ones don't.

lotti37 · 25/11/2017 17:37

Think I will just keep blocking and ignore calls thank you

If I have a number like that I never answer then copy it straight into Google and 9 times out of 10 it's a spam number.

I heard these people have ways of changing their number while still operating from the same place. It's frustrating but block each time and it eventually gets less.

I think these are from Manchester call centres. From recent memory, which is crap, I totally lost my shit with yet another call and demanded to speak to someone who did tell me to call the Telephone Preference Centre, that just because I blocked him it didn't mean it would work for other similar callers etc. He was sympathetic and helpful. I trust he is no longer working there.

Definitely an old batch of data has just been bought and shared - I’ve probably had double, maybe triple the calls I used to have, and of the ones I’ve answered they’ve asked for a name I haven’t used in over a decade. At least I know immediately I can put the phone down.

They seem to go through phases . No phone calls for a few weeks then phone calls everyday . Really annoying x
