DD went back to school yesterday after the holidays with all school uniform fully labelled. I am certin of that as I checked it before I laid it out the night before. When I picked her up she said her cardigan was missing. They have a jumper box where they put them if they get hot and collect from the end of the day. Teacher said she would look for it. Now there is a girl with the same name as dd in her class although obviously different surname. I go to pick dd up today and she has both the cardigan she went with this morning and yesterdays cardigan. I double check the label to make sure it is her's to see that her surname had been scribbled out with blue biro and the first letter of the other girl's (with the same name). Now they are 5 so no way could she have done it, so I can only assume her mum was trying to nick it (I would imagine her daughter took it home by mistake not remembering she didn't arrive with one in the morning). The teacher didn't say anything about it. Should I speak to the teacher/mother or just let it lie. I can't afford to keep replacing lost school uniform.
