Ebay advice desperately needed !!!!!

Hi! I have been lurking here for a long time but have never posted. I have an e-bay problem that I don't know how to deal with but I know I can rely on you lot to advise. Here goes - Six days ago I bought an item on e-bay. I paid by paypal but have not yet heard from the seller. I have e-mailed but have had no response and have checked my paypal account and the money has not been claimed. The item I bought is a kitchen sink and I desperately need it NOW because my sink is cracked and is leaking into the cupboard. Can I abort the purchase so I can get a sink from somewhere else or is it unreasonable to expect a response in six days. Maybe I'm impatient because I'm in a rush. What do you advise?

I'm not sure what you mean about the money been claimed. I never claim paypal money that's paid to me - it just sits in my paypal account till its used to buy something.

Its possible (although bad form) that the seller has got your details straight away and has packaged it up and has posted it and its on his way. If they're not the sort of person who uses the computer a lot they might not have got the email - my mum goes weeks without switching hers on.

Can you see what their address is from the ebay seller details? If so can you search for their phone number and ring them?

Thank you for your replies. This is a new seller and he has no ratings. I did think twice because of this but because I paid by Paypal knew I'd be protected moneywise although that doiesn't help the situation. My kitchen is in a mess! I've just e-mailed again. Can't see an address on his contact details. How long is reasonable to wait do you think? Can't wait much longer - I'm doing the washing up upstairs in the bath at the moment!

Thank you JU2. I'm going to look for his phone number now and I have just e-mailed him. I just clicked on Paypal and paid. If he doesn't accept Paypal, would I have been able to do that?

Just to update you - I got his phone number through e-bay and have just spoken to him. His computer is down so he didn't even know that it was sold. He's going to contact me later to arrange delivery. Thanks girls - I knew you would resolve this for me!!
