You could try phoning some up?
We get bags through the door every few weeks, tend to be heart foundation, air ambulance and a childrens home one

Most of the big charities will collect if you ring your local branches. Can't believe you don't get bags through the door! We get at least 2 a week!

Yes alot of charities will collect but be on the look out for those who post bags through you door immitating a charity but are actually a company

British Heart Foundation bags go to their actual shops. Most other bags are sold on to 3rd world countries and the charity gets a percentage.
I've been saving up all our old clothes for me to take to the local Basics Bank, where local families in hardship can get referred for an emergency trolleydash type thing.

call your local charity shop, they may arrange a collection van to come and collect, (our local Richard House shop does)

thanks for the advice. I ended up putting them on Freecycle, they were picked up this evening
