Car Booters, over here!

Any tips?
Am doing a car boot on Sunday and its been years since I did one.I know about the vultures diving in your car boot but any suggestions for prices etc please.

We normally put things a bit higher than expecting so if someone barters you can go down to what you want.

I've got a big bag of carriers ready and have emptied my piggy bank and have £20 in change is that enough?
Do you put prces on before you go or let people ask?

Hi MrsWho,

I do alot of car boot sales, dont' put prices on anything as it could deter buyers, if they think somethings pricey they assume everthining else is too and walk on by.

Take an outside parasol or something to shade you, a freezer bag with food on. Lock your passanger side doors (tax discs have been known to go missing). A money tin is a good thing to take too (if you have one)

Pasting table with a white cloth on top cant go wrong

I put things in piles too like clothes on the floor etc, it attracts people to rummage through then when people see others rummaging they think "oh what have they found" & come to see, pattern continues

Have a lovely time & dont forget your sun block

Lots of stuff will have to go the floor as the pasting table isn't very sturdy!
Am going with my Mam and have now realised we will need 2 cars as we have so much stuff and will be dragging my Dad along to carry stuff and look after the kids!

How much do books/dvds that sort of thing usually go for?

Sunday's are good yes, its my dd's birthday on the Tuesday so should be able to do the sunday, would you like me to check and see when its going to be on along the A127? the Giant one?

Packed into my Mams car already , just about fitted everything in but my Dad had to walk home we are meeting them there tomorrow but parking outside so I don't have to pay £5 for my car too!

don't forget that if you only pay for one pitch you'll only get the space of one pitch, so might not fit the contents of 2 cars in your slot

Most will fit on/under the paste table , itst things like the toy kitchen that takes up room in the car but will be fine stood up IYSWIM
