Hi all
We are currently living overseas but may have the opportunity to move back to the UK at the end of the year. We are looking at Farnham, specifically south farnham and the surrounding area, having done a recce over the summer.
We would need to rent for a bit before we bought, but I am going round in circles somewhat considering all the options we have about where to best locate ourselves...
We would need to be relatively near to the station as I commute to London. I don't mind a short-ish drive as I understand parking is ok at Farnham station. Anyone with a different experience?
My main concern is schooling for our kids. I know it's hard to get a place "in-year" but that is what we would need to do. We were looking at South Farnham school (obvs) and all the feeders for that. So should we try and rent on top of a feeder school in the hope that a place would open up? And then buy nearer the school?
Is there anyone with experience of moving into Farnham and navigating the primary school system after reception age? Am I being totally unrealistic about a place opening up? Where we are now the schools have to take the kids in the catchment area so this is all new to me.
Any advice gratefully received!!
