I'm a big Harry Potter fan and my sister asked me the other day if I remember the first time I ever read the books and my mind invented all the magic. I said yes, it started my love of reading and my love of Harry Potter. She told me I could have that for my son if I hold on long enough and I thought it's a lovely idea. The only issue is I have soo much Harry Potter stuff that he's gonna see and be interested in before he's 10/11. Do you think it's possible for him to have that magic read like I did?

No, because his friends in school will tell him way before he is 10. I would say around 6/7 and spread the books out. There will be parents though who show their dc the whole series of films when the child is 5 or 6 and they will delight in telling their friends the endings. It is still magical and the oldies that we are we insist that they read the book before the film.

True, we only had the books when I was at school and I will always believe books are better than the films. I can't wait for him to read it and that's a very long wait as he's only 2! 🙈 hopefully even if he sees the film first he will still have the same magic reading it as I did x
