I am so pissed off with sitting here day in, day out doing uni work and neglecting all that is going on around me.

can anyone help me with this---

'discuss the factors that influence the way mothers, fathers, carers or guardians make choices about the care of their infants'

I cannot think anymore, I have been sat in the same position since 0930 answering various BORING questions relating to pregnancy and childbirth and the postpartum period. I am losing the will to live.

upbringing, culture, finances, religious beliefs... amongst many others!

I don't know how this goes but here are some ideas:

financial factors - need to work, cost of childcare
own experiences - own mother working or SAHM
peer expectation. Also belief that one type of care is better for another for future - thinking reports on how children looked after by nanny/mother/nursery do better/worse in later life
own expectations/professional recognition
return to work - dropped behind professionally & pay
ease of childcare - shifts, working late
geography & location - availability of childcare
own desires - happiness to be SAHM
sp needs - does child have sp needs that would be better met in another environment outside the home on day to day basis
emotional stability of carer
extended family
other siblings - SAHM for one, probably SAHM for another (if that makes sense)
personal preferences - some people find babies very boring

That's a start - not very sophisticated.
