How do you clean plastic spectacle lenses?

Dh has scratched his badly, I suspect by putting them in his pocket with his loose change, though he denies it . Can we polish off the scratches or do they have to be replaced? They were £££££ as they are varifocals......

that is the way JUT and I do mine and ds' every morning.

K - take them to the opticians and see if they can polish it out. They'll probably be the only people to have the equipment if it can be done.

oh dear. i was hoping you woudl tell me about some miracle cleaning product that woudl get rid of the fine scratches [hopeful emoticon]

does anyone know if the plastic lenses can be polished or is it only glass?

Sorry, Kristina but if plastic is scratched there's nothing than can be done but replace the lenses. If he is very hard on his specs I'd ask your optician about a tuf-coat like Permagard. It makes them 6 times more scratch resistant.
