Brown paper and a warm iron.

Cover with brown paper and iron I believe or use ice cubes to freeze it and chip off. Have never tried either but sure that is what I read somewhere.?

Pick off the biggest lumps, and then use a cool iron over some absorbant paper, like brown paper, or paper cloths

Kitchen towel, iron. DON'T do what my DH did and use newspaper. Bloody idiot!

Yes I do! Get a piece of grease proof paper and using the iron on a low setting iron over it. The wax will melt and stick to the paper. It may take a couple of goes, moving the paper as you go, but it works. Obviously use the paper big enough that the iron doesn't touch the carpet. Good luck!
