Do your children bounce on the bed? I only ask because it never occured to me to stop them. However have discovered a friend who has never let her small chidren do this, I was surprised but maybe it's me. Could we have a quick poll? If it is dangerous I didn't know honestly!

Yes, but not on DD's bed cos it has wooden slats and they might break!!

Three little monkeys jumping on the bed, one fell off and banged his head.....

Oh yes especially with my nicely ironded clothes on its always my bed though!

I wouldnt stop it, part of growing up, harmless fun(except when they bang their head or fall off)

Yes they do, and forward rolls and all manner of gymnastics. Thats what beds are for. Yes they may fall...but

morningpaper · 29/03/2007 21:50

they can bounce on their beds but I don't like them bouncing on mine in case they ruin ... ermm.... something

Tortington · 29/03/2007 21:51

only if i can join in

parents are too up theirown arses IMO

Not her own, as it is a raised bed and rather narrow. But she does bounce about and do rolls on mine and Dh's bed. Try to stop her a bit now though as it has wooden slats and she is getting older, so heavier. Our bed is only a few inches off the floor so not dangerous!

My aunt never used to let us sit on the quilts on our cousin's beds, we always had to pull the quilt back and sit on the sheet so we didn't flatten the quilt. Weird or wot?

Lact8 · 29/03/2007 21:52

Yes, mass pile on every morning while I'm trying to make them!

I do keep an eye on the youngest one to stop her from falling off or getting trampled on though

TBH I find it a bit sad to hear that jumping on beds is considered too dangerous

bed bouncing is fine imo - they frequently fall off, but they are quite bouncy, and just climb back on.

DD tries to bounce on our bed - bit like wading through custard on a memory foam mattress

pirategirl · 29/03/2007 21:55

bouncing on beds is fine, where else in the house is there such a marvelous. instant plaything like this.

I too know someone who doesnt let their lo's do this, not sure why. My bed is best of course, it is biggest.

My two DSs love it - great way of using up excess energy on rainy afternoons when a trip to the park isn't an option

Thanks that is reassuring. The bed slats in our house are broken, I always thought it was a design fault - all children bounce. I was genuinely surprised to find out it can be a house rule not to.
