Does anyone have any experience with these people?
We saw an add in gumtree and applied and they accepted my lad
They have asked us to go to London to see a photographer before they decide, and if they decide to take him we have to pay towards the photos and they will help
Apparently if they take him after we have paid our share they will cover all fuel and take 20percent of all work
The things worrying me are;
They want us to go on a weekend (I read that most reputable agencies are only Monday to Friday)
It was an add through gumtree
I can't find anything about them online other than a not very well done website and a not very active Twitter
Is anyone with them? Heard of them? Have any info?
I have an email from them that's really really long about my lads appointment and saying he will get a bad name if we don't go
Any advice greatly appreciated :)

here is a list of the top ten child model agencies in UK. Go with one of those as these sound like a scam to me

MineKraftCheese · 12/08/2017 15:32

Sounds like a scam based on:

  • it was on gumtree
  • they are asking you to pay for photos
  • the pressurising language of the email you describe
  • the reservations you have yourself regarding weekends
  • the lack of online presence

This is just not how real model agencies function, I'm afraid.

Thank you both!
Here is part of the superlong email

In potentially being invited onto our books, you are potentially entering the big world of modelling and so, this is not a game or a bit of fun!!!

Modelling is serious business all casting directors and agencies consider certain things to be a cardinal sin that may have serious consequences for the model applicant.

To this end, below are the actions and possible consequences of not turning up so kindly pay attention to them very carefully as we are here to help you make rather than lose money, make your name in the industry rather than ruin it and so, kindly work with us and not against us!!

It then goes onto say if we don't go they will tell everyone they work with (including other agencies) that he is not reliable...which is possibly no one...but that's the bit that worries me...but I guess that's how they get people to go?

Er, threats?!

Definitely a scam. Do not give them a penny.

CodLiverOil556 · 12/08/2017 16:45

Definitely sounds like a scam to me, my DS was on Urban Angels books when he was a baby and it was actually really relaxed at shoots (they can't pressure young people)

I'd run for the hills and never look back and for goodness sake don't give them a penny

Website is brand new

www.whois.com/whois/classicmodelmanagement.co.uk

Their address is a correspondence address only, no company with the name is registered at companies house.

Thank you soooooo much everyone
We probably would have gone for it without all of this information and it's a long way from Derby or London just to end up getting scammed on a false promise
We're gonna have a look at some recomended places instead :)
