Hi.i have reseved a call from council saying that im band a for council housing what thas that meen? What are my options(chanses) of getting sometting from them.my lanlord is seling the house we live in now and i need to move out in 2 weeks.i have 2 kids age 8 and 3.i have been trying to find private rentals but prices are just to high for my to pay.now i pay 550pm and prices start from 600pm and up.i have been waiting some news frkm council for 2 months now.and just now had a call that they have receved my aplication papers and im band a with council and a emergansy band with housing solutions.is there any chance to get somthing until i move out? Thanks

I would think your local council were best placed to answer your questions about waiting times for housing in your area. It varies so much from area to area. Perhaps phone the housing office back and ask them these questions so you can get answers relevant to your own situation.

People on here will only be able to answer with their own experiences, though I'm sure there will be some helpful advice re the 2 week eviction. All the best, I hope you and your children get a secure home soon

I asked them and thay said that thay will start look for a place but they dont know when somthing will pop up. I was just wondering how long people usually wait for something like that.

When I was in your situation I had to go into temporary accommodation when I was evicted. Stayed there for 6 months before being offered a permanent place. But that was over 20 years ago and things are much worse now.

Can i be on street before council helps me? Im just really woried about kids.i would never think that i will need a help from council.never.i have allways got out of situations by my self.but this is not that case.and it hurts.i dont really think that they will help me at all before im at there door with to small kids sitting on a pile of clothes.
