Do you wear strong perfume? Because you make my ruddy head ache and I wish you would stop. Everyone else thinks so too but they are too polite to tell you that you stink.

I think that more or less covers it.

In honour of this thread I went and bought some perfume today.

mousiemousie · 27/03/2007 21:39

All men please stop wearing Lynx

It is repulsive

IT DOES not make you attractive to women like the adverts say

Aloha · 27/03/2007 21:39

I only really like Cristalle. Dune gives me a headache. Really dislike it.

expatinscotland · 27/03/2007 21:40

I like Lynx.

I hate that shite from NEXT, though.

Dinosaur · 27/03/2007 21:40

What did you buy, expat?

Aloha, check your emails .

VoodooSpringChicken · 27/03/2007 21:40

bom chakka wo wow

expatinscotland · 27/03/2007 21:41

Elizabeth Arden Green Tea.

sheepgomeep · 27/03/2007 21:47

The only perfume that has really really made me feel sick has been Avons Far and aay. I had to work with a woman who drenched herself in the stuff.. she was a smoker too.

Angel i'm not to keen on either.. sickly sweet candy floss.. yuk

However i don't mind fabric conditioner so much but hate those glade circulair thingies. Used to like them but since being pg the smell of them makes me sick.
don't they have cancer causing chemicals in them anyway?

oh and I like sniffing dp armpits He thinks i'm odd but since he has a bath everyday, and wears antiperpirent, mixed with his own body smell hmmm.. much better than strong aftershave

Now you will all think i'm nuts

Dinosaur · 27/03/2007 21:48

Ooh Expat, I like that. I do like perfumes with a lot of "green" notes.

sheepgomeep · 27/03/2007 21:49

god my spellings crap

expatinscotland · 27/03/2007 21:49

I don't like florals, but this one suits me for Spring.

Doesn't cost the Earth, either.

Dinosaur · 27/03/2007 21:49

sheepgomeep - no, not odd at all - I think that F&Z made same point right back at the beginning of this (surprisingly long!) thread.

Dinosaur · 27/03/2007 21:50

Yes, very spring-like - lovely.

When my sister and I were teenagers we used to be mad about a perfume called Eau Jeune - anyone remember it?

sheepgomeep · 27/03/2007 21:52

does anyone like cacherels Amor Amor?
I really like that

expatinscotland · 27/03/2007 21:52

I used to love Eau Dynamis-whatever, but then when I was pregnant with DD1 I went off it.

expatinscotland · 27/03/2007 21:53

I like Amor Amor and Promesse, but they don't smell good on me.

The Clarins one Toujours or Par Toujours, the red one, does, though.

Dinosaur · 27/03/2007 21:57

I do like Eau Dynamisante, but not enough to buy it - I just have a little squirt when I go past the Clarins counter.

I don't know any of the others you've just mentioned.

Anais Anais reminds me of my misspent youth in quite a major way .

Aloha · 27/03/2007 22:02

God Dino, I have a MASSIVE bottle of that which you can have. I actually really like it, but only ever wear Cristalle.

MuminBrum · 27/03/2007 22:22

Eau Jeune! There's a blast from the past. Our whole family, parents plus my two sisters and I, drove all the way from London to Cairo when we girls were teenagers. My middle sister drove us mad all the way by constantly spraying herself with Eau Jeune to cover up the smell of her illicit ciggies. As I remember, it had top notes of loo cleaner.

Overrun · 28/03/2007 09:29

Sheepgomeep - I know where you are coming from. I have been known to do the same. I am pretty confident that I would be able to sniff dh out while blindfolded in a room full of men. He just smells of him iykwim

emmatomATO · 28/03/2007 09:40

Notquitecockney was describing 'Giorgio Beverly Hills' I think.

Was that the most awful perfume smell ever invented or what. Thankfully it seems to have died a death these days - at least I don't see it on the shelves anymore.

I am a perfume lover, but just like it to be light and fresh.

ScottishMummy · 28/03/2007 10:34

ruty · 28/03/2007 11:36

nulnulcat · 28/03/2007 21:54

i am a perfume addict! used to where anais anais and lou lou in my teens then went onto the whole obsession / poison / opium thing at uni then i wore giorgio beverly hills (yellow and white stripy box) for years then calvin klein eternity gucci envy then for the past 6 years i have had my every day perfumes armani she, dkny, then for goin out i have pure poison, dior addict and dolce and gabbana feminine. Cant wait to get the new vera wang perfume truly pink. I am guilty of layering and have all the shower and moisturising creams.

really like hugo deep red but it smelt like pink play doh on me and kenzo flower smelt like parma violets, ck one smelt like cat piss so i wasnt much of a fan of that one either!

most people i come into contact with, which is a lot in my job complement me on my perfume and ask what im wearing

only ever had one complaint and that was on a plane, i had not even sprayed my perfume just got on and sat down and the woman in front of me starting loudly kicking off demanding to be moved as she couldnt possible sit near any one who stunk like a brothel!!!

also like fabric conditioner but we all got dodgy skin so its fairy in this house nothing better than getting into a clean bed smelling of fabric conditioner and that dried outdoors smell.

love the baby smell you get thats a mixture of johnson baby wipes and moisturiser etc

use air fresheners and open windows every day even if it is -20 but i got 2 cats and paranoid about cat smells

oh and if a fella walks past wearing farenheit i go all wobbly kneed! reminds me of my first boyfriend

FrannyandZooey · 28/03/2007 21:55

Nulnulcat just reading your post has given me a headache
