At what age did you DC go from a cot to a bed?

Thinking ahead dd is 15 months & i can not for the life of me remember when i put ds into a proper bed.

I remember he used to throw himself over the top of the cot so i moved him because i thought it was time & we never looked back, but i don't know what age this was!

So what age did your Dc go from a cot to a proper bed?

2.5 when he started climbing out

we moved dd2 just a few weeks ago as we needed her crib for the baby and it's been a nightmare. she's gone from being a suberp settler and sleeper to the complete opposite! wish we had of borrowed a second crib for the baby ( who was wayyyyy too big for moses basket at nearly 6 months! )
so i guess I'd leave it as long as possible!

Both of mine went into a bed just after they were 2. Know people who did it both older and younger. Most of those who do it younger seem to have climbers who can get out on their own.

my ds was in a bed by the time he was 1.
he was very tall tho and hated being confined in the cot, was much happier and slept much better in his bed.

DS1 was 2.4yrs - leave it as late as possible or until they learn to climb out - we don't struggle getting him to bed at night, just getting him to stay there in the mornings...

Hmm i thought ds was about 18 months but he was always a climber & loved to escape from anywhere...

DD2 had her first night in a big bed last night. She is 2.8.

DD1 was 2 years and 2 months when we turned the cotbed into a bed. She was fine and only fell out a couple of times.

ds went into a bed at 2.5. And that was only because we needed it for dd.

About 18 months. DS just got too long for his cot and we thought it was time he made the transition to a bed. Put small mattresses on either side to cushion any tumbles but he only fell out a couple of times.
