Present for a third boy

A friend of mine has recently had a third baby boy and so obviously she already has plenty of baby clothes, toys etc. I'd like to get something a bit more imaginitive but also practical, but am stuck for ideas. I don't want to just give money or a gift token. Any ideas gratefully received!

How about something personalised, such as those cute wooden letters spelling out his name. They are nice to put on the door to the baby's room and its something that will last for ages. My kids still love theirs, even though d.s.1 is almost 7.

I agree with something personalised - Letterbox do loads of personalised mail order gifts - dunno if they have a shop or web site but I'd have thought they'd have the latter.
Or what about a money box just for him? Something fun though I suppose it's all down to taste but I wasn't so keen on the sterling silver array of money boxes etc I got for ds.

What do people feel about a token gift for baby and a pressie for mum? With 3 she'd probably like a massage or something like that?
I know I would've preferred that!

Nothing for the baby. Neither he nor the parents will apreciate it.
A bottle of champagne for the mum - will be appreciated ( directly or indirectly ) by the whole family

we have just had our third boy,and I was surprised that we actually had more presents this time than we did for the second,maybe it was the surprise factor.Contrary to expectations some of the nicest were the clothes,after 3 boys the original ones are starting to look a bit tired and it was so lovelly to be able to dress him up in something new and special for him,fashions do change and no doubt he will spend most of his life in hand me downs but I really appreciated those things that people had purchaes especially for him,after all you wouldn't have thought twice about buying clothes if she had had a girl and a lot of things are pretty unisex!

Agree about getting some cute clothes. My second son wore lots of his big bother's old babygrows. They look so tired now, I can't even give them away for jumble. Also, the cotton is no longer soft, so not very comfortable for new babies. If I had another baby I'd have to start from scratch.

Failing that, new bedding for the cot, for the same reasons as above, plus his bigger brothers may still be using their original blankets and sheets, so your friend will be in need of more.

Definitely a nice outfit, Gymboree have some nice boys' stuff in the reduced section!
