DECORATED EGGS-URGENT HELP NEEDED!!

Ok maybe not that urgent! Both kids-boy and girl need decorated eggs for monday. have a few ideas in mind-dd wants 'ARIEL' mermaid.
but any other ideas greatly appreciated! also last time i attempted one i used poster paints but it rubbed off,didnt cling properly to the egg-what brands of paint do people know definately work? tried the food colouring thing and it didnt work at all.also what glues etc to make things stick on.

we had a tradition in our family of blowing eggs and then painting them with felt tips. You have to be careful not smudge though...you should have seen my mum's, they were works of art.

Mix PVA woodglue with poster paints to make them stick.

Get some acrylic paints, i've found them the best, and put a coat of pva glue over the top for a lovely shiny effect.
How about joining a few eggs together and doing the very hungry caterpillar?

any moe ideas?

Food colouring works if you dilute it in vinegar not water.
