HELP - can't send text messages

For some reason my phone won't send text messages this morning... the G on the front seems to be crossed through too which I assume i s connected... any idea how to reset it ? Its vodafone and a NOkia something or other...

i have a nokia i sometimes can't send messages because it has lost it contact numbers (doesn't regonise any phone network) so i have to turn it off and back on again for it to work.

The G has nothing to do with text messages. It means you are out of a GPRS coverage area (the internet on your phone). If you go into messages, then message settings, then sending profile, then default profile what does it say in message centre number? If this has been changed you won't be able to send messages.

Thanks ! Actually, having rung dh and had a go at him for fiddling wiht my phone (which he did last night) - I rang vodafone and it appears there is a network problem for a chosen few.
