Advice for a hermit like social recluse please...

OK so its not that bad, but I can't remember the last time I went out and actually had fun (ie not having to shove dh into car and stop 4 times on the way home for him to throw up - don't worry I made him pay for that! Or just talking to people who have drunk too uch and tell you the same story 5 times).
My friend's hen night is soon and the dress code is LBD. Does that literally mean we will all be wearing little black dresses? Or do I need to know something here?! Also do people take things to hen nights? I have horrific visions of turning up completely unprepared for this event, having never actually been on one before.
Hangs head in shame emoticon

sigh. I thought I might be able to answer this question. evidently I am a hermit like recluse too.

ScottishThistle · 21/03/2007 20:55

I guess LBD means just that...In general the Bridesmaid organises the hen night & all the bits & pieces...Depends what kind of hen night it is!

MadamePlatypus · 21/03/2007 20:58

I think that whoever is organising the hen night should be very clear about whether you should bring anything and what is involved. Usually hen nights include people from different groups of the bride's friends, so it can't be assumed that you will all do things the same way.

KatyR · 21/03/2007 21:01

Oh well all she said was dress code lbd, and bring a guest? Surely we can't all be going out in lbd's? Thats just weird!

Maybe she just means lbd so people dont turn up in jeans? You could be gooing somewhere where denim is not allowed?

It will mean just that, you may think it sounds weird but there are many different LBD looks...If I was you I'd wear a bit of colour too, so you feel a bit different!

The last hen night I went to was a Policewoman dress code!

themoon66 · 21/03/2007 21:13

Last one I went to was 'bad taste' theme. Wonderful fun.

KatyR · 21/03/2007 21:20

Oooh I am relieved I don't have to dress up in anything complex then! Will go for the lbd and see what happens, thanks for help!

Have fun!...There are usually a couple of hen nighters who drink way more than they can handle which is always amusing!

suzycreamcheese · 21/03/2007 21:30

maybe she's hire one of those tasteful limos to drive around in all night popping in and out of nightclubs...drinking champagne..

no shame in non hen night attendence, me too, never been on known hen night my idea of hell ....

...hardly have any MARRIED friends ha ha its only us!! and thats a secret now girls

KatyR · 22/03/2007 22:30

Oh good glad I'm not the only one who hasn't been on a hen night before!! I can't say I'm looking forward to a load of squealing girls with L plates on, not really my thing, but hey. Seeing as I haven't had a drink in over a year (pregnant and bf) I'm sure I'll be the life and soul of the party! At least I'll be able to take photos/tell them what they were doing afterwards!
