We live next door to a Muslim family. Since we moved in, they've given us a card and chocolates for Christmas and we've given them a gift for Eid-up-Fitr. This year, we'll be away for Eid.

Would it be considered rude to drop off their gift before we leave (a few days early) or would it be better to wait until we're back (a few days late). I'm sure they won't mind too much either way but I don't want to be unintentionally rude as I know some people who feel that cards and presents before they are due is inappropriate or rude.

I doubt they will mind, they're just ordinary people who will understand.
