Have just reported concerns about a baby to SS

I have just called Social Services as I can't stop worrying about a baby I saw with a young man yesterday. I spoke to him so passed on the few details I had, although can't be sure they were true.

They didn't take my phone number and only said that they would try to search for the very unusual first name, baby also had a very unique prominent birthmark and the man mentioned the area where they live.

I am just wondering how they will follow this up and whether I should call back perhaps at the end of the week to check it was followed up.

My hope is that the family is known to SS and that further checks can be made.

I've never spoken to anyone from SS before and no idea what is feasible but just couldn't do nothing.

Well done to you for reporting your concerns! It was the right thing to do.

SS won't be able to tell you what action they are taking about the case, because it is confidential information.

yes I hope they are able to locate the baby in their files and check she's ok/ follow up

i was just surprised they didn't take my phone number and left wondering how i could be sure this would be acted upon

I would doubt there would be much you could add from what you have said so they probably didn't think they needed your number.
