Hey everyone! I've got a driving test coming up in 6 days. I've posted on here before about it:
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/other_subjects/2906402-Cant-pass-my-driving-test-what-should-I-do?noti=1&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=WatchedThreadNotification&utm_content=WatchedThreadNotification+ID_6555a97d-36be-430d-afc9-4fd402823fe9&utm_source=newsletters&utm_term=Ninjas%20-%20new%20barn-zoo%20thread#69415129

So anyway, if you don't want to read that, here's the deal:

It's my 6th test and I've failed 5, for different and often insignificant reasons. I can definitely drive well. My last two tests had either 1 or no minor faults at all! It's getting beyond a joke and I'm just thinking "enough is enough", so I am DETERMINED to pass.

1st test: I was bad and wasn't ready, 4 minors, 2 majors
2nd test: three minors for hesitations (therefore a major fault), one minor for gear change
six month break of no driving
3rd test: failures in observations at a junction + 3 minors
1st semester of 1st year at university, 4th test taken in xmas holidays
4th test: didn't correct an incorrect signal at a roundabout - NO minors
5th test taken during easter holidays during 2nd semester
5th test: touched curb when doing a reverse park + 1 minor

I can clearly drive, and I know this sounds bad but I am definitely better than most of my friends who have passed first time. One passed the other day and she already nearly had an accident! Doesn't help that this has become an insecurity of mine, having started learning in October 2015, and still not passing. My theory runs out in october and I won't be able to afford lessons afterwards: I have to do it this time! Or I'll probably pass efter my sister when she turns 17 in two years time because I won't be able to afford the lessons and retaking tests on repeat (and THAT will be the death of me)

It's becoming an insecurity of mine and everyone else finds it funny. Yeah, I guess it was for the first four but now It's driving me insane! (excuse the pun) It's gotten so bad I've actually cried myself to sleep at night. It's not the only contributing factor but if I can get over this stump then it's a huge step in the right direction, and life would feel so much better!

Anyone know how to stay calm? I know I've often had bad nights sleep before my tests so nerves and staying calm definitely play a part.

Note: I have A.D.D (Attention Deficit Disorder) but whenever I drive I take Ritalin medication. Is my ADD having that big of a role in this struggle?
