DH is going to hit the roof.

DS2 in, I think, a fit of pique as I'm on the PC, has decided to draw all over our TV in blue crayon.

Unfortunately we haven't got a normal TV. We have a very expensive LCD one (which we won incidently - we wouldn't have bought it!) which is really delicate to clean. I've managed to get most of it off with baby soap, but when its turned off you can still see exactly where he drew. We're not meant to use any chemicals on it as it can damage the screen, but I've got to get it off somehow. HELP!!!!

Stupid TV

Guilty mummy for spending too much time on the PC and not paying attention to DS

OH MY GOD!!!!!! No help, I'm afraid, but OMG!!! Try 'phoning the manufacturers to see if they have any advice Good luck xxx

Leave it turned on and when dh turns it off deny all knowledge? Pretend ds had a friend round 'It MUST have been him, surely?'

discordia · 10/07/2004 17:45

Oh no!

No experience of LCD tv's but I would

  1. Look in instructions in case they suggest what you can clean tv with.

  2. Phone manufacturer's helpline.

Good luck!

You can buy alcohol free screen wipes at somewhere like office world - try them..

xoz · 10/07/2004 17:50

Maybe try the Cryola website here they have a big stain removal section, although I don't know if it would include lcd screens.... itmight give you some things to try anyway
Best of luck I hope you get it off

Instruction book says to ONLY use mild soap solution on the screen. DH gets the hump when I use baby wipes on it I'm hoping DH won't notice for a few days. Most of the 'blue' is gone, it must just be wax left on there. DH isn't the most observant bloke in exsistence.

Twiglett, can't iron the screen BUT what if I heat a teatowel in the tumbledryer and try wiping it hot IYSWIM?

Jampot good idea, DH has a stash of wipes for the PC monitor somewhere. I'll go and try to find them

thanks, fingers crossed

DH has glasses wipes from Lakeland and when ds drew on our flat computer monitor with biro, they got it off really well.

HTH

Thanks for all the advice, I knew I could rely on you to help.

I bit the bullet and rang DH, as I know some of the PCs in his office are LCD, and I thought he could find some cleaners to bring home. He was a lot calmer than I thought he'd be, so we sorted a suitable punishment for DS out (no PC etc for two days and extra early bedtime with no book) We'll try the wipes, if that doesn't shift it I'll just have to ring Sharp and ask their advice.

Thanks again

lydialemon, surely the 'no pc for two days' should be for you?!! I'm really glad your dh took it so well and hope the special wipes work.
