Due to move in 3 weeks time. Selling stuff on Trademe (NZ equivalent of Ebay), you know, stair gates, baby back pack carrier etc etc.
Am sitting here clutching DD's first Grobag to my face - certain her baby smell is still there (although she hasn't used it in 2 years) and don't want to put it on to sell .

Someone give me a good talking to ...

Or shall I just hide it away and keep it?

I would hide

Sorry... no... get a grip

beansprout · 19/03/2007 08:33

Hang onto it for now and maybe sell it at some point in the future when you are ready. I gave away ds's first babygro and I do actually regret it!

eidsvold · 19/03/2007 08:34

keep it always nice to keep things from each. I still have the first grobags we bought for dd1 - but we have used them for dd2 and will use them for babe no3

danceswithaSPRINGinherstep · 19/03/2007 08:34

In principle 'get a grip' but in practice...I would keep it too

Berrie · 19/03/2007 08:36

Oh Lordy, you've made me want to ring my brother and get our first grows back!

ghosty · 19/03/2007 08:40

I actually physically can't sell it I know I can't ... If DH was here he would shake his head and say I'm a loon
But it is so warm and snuggly and cosy and I can actually feel her in it .....

I have had to get rid of LOTS of dd's clothing but I have kept a few special items. Her 1st pair of booties, the baby grow she wore straight after she was born, her 1st xmas outfit and I keep all the special xmas and birthday cards! I keep those things in a box. I will always keep them! It is good to be sentimental. When your dd is much older she can look through all her baby stuff. My mum did for my and its lovely.
So keep it!

deaconblue · 19/03/2007 09:25

keep it. I have a box where I'm putting ds' things which are precious to me. My mum still has our first shoes, little cardigans etc. She might want to see some of these things when she's bigger

nikkie · 19/03/2007 21:20

I ahve kept first babygros and shoes

ghosty · 20/03/2007 07:51

OK, so I have hidden the grobag away to keep for posterity.
Now I am struggling with selling the blimmin' cot bumper. Really. This is getting silly. Why would I keep a cot bumper?

It is a vewy cute one ... wif wittle zoo aminals on it ...

Keep as much stuff as you like. Whatever you do keep, it will be lovely for your dd to look at when she is older. So if you have storage room, keep it all!!!
