Do you worry that you are becoming addicted to MN, to the detriment of other commitments?
Do you have any rules about how long you will spend on here and when you'll log on? MN is just so much more fun than tidying the house ..

I don't worry I know I am addicted to mumsnet

fryalot · 18/03/2007 17:11

No, don't worry anymore. I know it.

Have accepted it. I used to smoke, now I mumsnet. If you don't like it, tough.

Okay, so maybe I'm a teensy bit worried.

SNOWBall4girlz · 18/03/2007 17:13

I am always just jumping on for a couple of minutes and then well time must jump?

lol at least it is a constructive addiction all the help advice etc.

noonar · 18/03/2007 17:15

the thing that worries me is that i sometimes mn all evening and dont really unwind.

we eat at 8pm, usually. i feel better when i dont mn after supper(more relaxed, i mean)

sometimes i also worry that my first reaction when something upsets me/interests me etc, is not 'what will dh think of this', but 'what will mn think'

nikkie · 18/03/2007 18:15

have you been looking in my Kitchen?

At least MN is teaching me to type?

PestoMonster · 18/03/2007 18:18

I love MN and find it quite therapeutic and don't care if I'm addicted to it. I think it's quite a healthy addiction really, as long as I get all my other stuff done and make time for my family. I feel I'm entitled to have a little time for myself.

Aloveheart · 18/03/2007 18:19

It's in my head all the time. 'Oh i'll just check on mn for a few mins' end up staying an hour or so. 'oh god is taht the time'. I think i would get so much more done if it wasn't for mn, but that's my fault really. But it's good for advice or when you feel lonely it's funny and happy. My name is Aloveheart and i'm a mumsnet addict. We should to go mumsnet annonymouse. lol

steinermum · 18/03/2007 18:21

But my question is, how do you limit yourself? It's so much nicer chatting on MN than many other activities and it's available 24/7. Or are those of you who don't confess to an addiction just really really strong-minded?

noonar - you're not the only one to think of what MN would say about something - I do it too! I saw a solicitors yesterday called Wright Hassall, and my first thought was of a thread on MN about weird company names!

I do try to delay logging on because I know that when I do, I'll be on for ages - you just say 'I'll just check active convos one more time before I go' and then you get dragged in.....

steinermum · 18/03/2007 18:36

Wright Hassall - that's priceless. Yep, you should definitely start the thread!!

lol What a strange name.

Your forever refreshing the active convos'. lol. Strange really could be worse though.

steinermum · 18/03/2007 18:58

Rustybear - told myself to wait an hour before I came on again, but didn't manage it. DH is a lawyer and knew the Wright Hassle one. He then told me about a senior partner called Mr Swindle, a family law firm called Rupert Bear and Co. and a lawyer called R.U. Kidding.

Im ThisTime and I'm an MN Addict....

(Introduces one self at self help group)

princesscc · 18/03/2007 19:25

I don't limit myself is the answer. I do my jobs as quickly as possible, then I get on MN! I hate it when you know you really ought to go to bed, but it is very rude not to reply to people who have bothered to join a thread you started, so I think, I'll just check to see if anyone has been on, then you answer if necessary, then you wait and check again and so it goes on! My god son was ill the other week and his mum, who is also on mn started a thread about it and instead of ringing her to see if he was alright, I checked her thread! Is this the actions of an addict?

Kbear · 18/03/2007 21:02

yeah, and don't think it hasn't been noted....
